EKSTROM IS ALL IN FOR ESTERING


Mattias Ekström will enter round eleven of the FIA World Rallycross Championship at Estering. The Swede goes all-in to fight for the World RX title, without missing one single round of the 2016 season. "“I have to send a massive ‘thank you’ to my bosses at Audi Sport",” said Ekström. “"Being given green light to realise a childhood dream is nothing I take for granted."” By entering the penultimate round of the World RX season, Ekström will miss the DTM season finale at Hockenheim, which takes place on the same weekend. “"I haven’'t missed a single race in DTM for 15 years", said Ekstrom, "so it’s a really big decision by Audi Sport and for sure a big one for me too. I have never ever been close to winning a FIA World Championship title before and I’m proud and honoured that my bosses are giving me this chance. Rest assured that I will go flat-out to pay them back. I want to take a step towards the big trophy not only for me and my team EKS, but also for Audi Sport.”" Round eleven of the FIA World Rallycross Championship at rich in tradition Estering will take place on 15–16 October. With only three rounds remaining, Ekström is leading the drivers’ championship with ten points ahead of reigning champion Petter Solberg. EKS sits on top of the teams’ standings, leading by 21 points over Team Peugeot Hansen.
