ORROCK GRABS RX OPPORTUNITY WITH XTREMERX

Seat EuroCup Championship regular, Lucas Orrock, will be handed the controls of the XtremeRX C2 for the upcoming British Rallycross Grand Prix. The Milltek Sport backed driver was offered the opportunity to race by the team during sponsorship discussions prior to the 2016 season. 26yr old Lucas has so far had a very successful career within circuit racing, including 3 British Karting Championships, 2nd overall in the 2015 Volkswagon Cup and is currently putting in some strong performances during his first EuroCup season.

“Lucas comes from many years of racing on circuits," said Craig Lomax, "which will make it pretty easy for him to quickly get up to speed in the car. He’s used to a sequential gearbox etc so once he figures out the loose section, Lucas will have tons of fun and sideways moments, no doubt”

"Earlier in the year Milltek Sport MD, Steve Pound, mentioned he may have an opportunity for me to drive in a British Rallycross race," claimed Orrock, "I couldn't say yes quick enough! Rallycross has always had a massive appeal to me and it feels surreal that I will get the chance to actually compete at this race. I have to say a huge thanks to Milltek Sport for giving me the opportunity, I've been looking forward to it all year. With zero experience in rallying or rallycross I must admit I'm not really sure what to expect, but one thing is for sure, I can't wait to give it a go!"

Driving on a loose surface will be a new experience. During my time motor racing and karting, mixed conditions have always been favourable for me, I'm hoping this translates to being competitive in RallyX! The Milltek Sport backed XtremeRX Citroen C2 looks like a great little machine, it won't be the biggest car I've driven but I think it might just be one of the most fun!"

Before Lucas gets his hands on Sabrina he will be finishing up his Championship in the Seat EuroCup with a final race in Barcelona, Lucas is currently lying on 8th overall heading into the weekend.

"My expectations going into the first race", said Orrock, "were to be capable of competing in the top 6. However, to say our first two races were challenging would be an understatement! It was certainly a wake-up call that to compete at this level, everything had to be perfect. I made a switch to the Wolf-Power Racing team after round two and since then we have gone from strength to strength. I remained confident from the start, even in tough moments, that if we kept working hard we could make it to the podium. Thankfully I was proven right! We claimed our first podium at the brilliant Mugello circuit, since then we have yet to re-visit the podium, but we have had solid and consistent top six results with very good pace, at tracks where I have no past experience.

The last round is at the infamous Catalunya circuit. I have good previous experience there and my sole aim for the last two races is to be back on the podium and end the year on a high!"

The Rallycross Grand Prix will take place at Croft Race Circuit, Darlington on the 23rd October. The action packed event will start at 9am.
